F1 Safety Car

The Formula One is a very popular motorsport that is enjoyed by millions all over the world. There are often accidents during the F1 races and many of these create debris on the tracks. If this happens, a car breaks down in the track or the track is waterlogged / heavy rainfall the safety car is called out.

New for 2015 is the virtual safety car. This is different to the usual safety car that we are used to driving round the track, setting the pace for the F1 drivers, this is just a set speed the drivers are told to adhere to.

Although the safety car has been great at increasing the safety of the race, it does spoil the race somewhat for the drivers. If you are a driver that has a large lead on the driver behind and then the safety car is called out, that gap very quickly closes up and all the hard work you have put it goes to nothing.
